Crown lifting involves the removal of the lower branches of a tree, effectively lifting the height of the base of the crown and increasing space and clearance between the ground and the lowest branches. This could be to lift the tree crown away from buildings, roads or walkways, clear sight lines and improve views, allow light to reach the ground, or allow access to the base of the tree.
Crown lifting is an alternative to crown reduction and crown thinning, enabling you to leave the majority of the crown intact. It also allows greater natural light to reach windows and gardens. Ask us for advice on which branches to lift, as cutting large primary branches could lead to decay.
You are required by law to ensure your trees and hedges do not endanger or obstruct the passage of pedestrians or vehicles on public footpaths or highways.
All works are carried out in accordance with the guidelines set out in BS3998 (2010)
